Through respiratory assessment and education they support patients and their families in optimizing their lung health.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-medium-font-size wp-block-paragraph\">The&nbsp;Allied Health Team&nbsp;Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) runs the Lung Health Program with individual services and group workshops in-person or virtually (by phone or video call). Services include:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list has-medium-font-size\">\n<li class=\"has-medium-font-size\">Spirometry testing \u2013 to measure lung volume and airway function, and other respiratory assessment<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Management of asthma and COPD<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Review inhaler use and need for change<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Smoking cessation &#8211; learn about the STOP program<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Education on lung diseases, including breathing exercises and techniques how to improve lung health<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Virtual home-monitoring with the Breathe Program, an L&amp;A Hospital initiative, with RRT follow-up<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>CPAP Clinics &#8211; to help learn about optimizing use of the CPAP machine used for treating sleep apnea<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-medium-font-size wp-block-paragraph\">Our respiratory therapist also runs group programs&nbsp;\u2013&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/rflahealth.ca\/home\/programs\/\">learn more<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-medium-font-size wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>For more information, please speak to your provider or call:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li class=\"has-medium-font-size\">RFLA Allied Health Team at 613-354-3301 ext. 680<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>This program supports patients and families with respiratory assessments and provides information regarding lung health.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"featured_media":892,"template":"","categories":[15,8],"communities":[17,23,27],"class_list":["post-178","program","type-program","status-publish","has-post-thumbnail","hentry","category-children-and-youth","category-healthcare","communities-all-ages","communities-family","communities-other-agencies-service-providers"],"acf":[],"yoast_head":"<!-- This site is optimized with the Yoast SEO plugin v28.1 -
