We offer a variety of settlement programs and services.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">All information you provide is kept strictly confidential, and will never be shared without your permission. We are funded by\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.canada.ca\/en\/services\/immigration-citizenship.html\">Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada<\/a>, and\u00a0the\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.ontario.ca\/page\/ministry-citizenship-and-immigration\">Ontario Ministry of\u00a0\u00a0Children, Community and Social Services<\/a>. We are proud to have been serving newcomers in Kingston for over 10 years!<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">What We Do<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">We accompany you along your settlement journey and help make your transition as smooth as possible. Areas of focus can include:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Assistance with government documents<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Individualized mentoring and solution-focused counselling<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Opportunities to make connections in your community<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Support with finding a home for you and your family<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Support with enrolling children in school and daycare<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Connecting you with resources in your community<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Services in multiple languages<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Coordinated Language Assessment and Referral System (CLARS) on-site through Noble Language Assessments<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Commissioner of Oath facility<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Through partnership with the Kingston Immigration Partnership and the City of Kingston, KCHC \u2013 Immigrant Services offers a welcome package for newcomers, while supplies last. This package provides access to Kingston activities and services and can include a Kingston Transit pass, a Fitness pass to city recreational programs, vouchers for shows at the Grand Theatre and family passes to museums. If you have arrived in Kingston within the past year and are either a temporary worker or permanent resident, please visit our office to receive a welcome package.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Everyone is welcome!&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Meeting with a Settlement Worker<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Our settlement team is here to answer your questions and help you find the resources in your community to make your settlement easier. During our first meeting, we will work with you to gather a full understanding of your needs. Please bring your immigration documents.&nbsp;<strong>All information you provide is kept strictly confidential and will not be shared without your permission.<\/strong>&nbsp;We will also give you more detailed information about our services and upcoming programs, workshops, and events in our&nbsp;monthly calendar.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Referrals<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">We collaborate with a variety of organizations in the community as a way to enhance your experience as a newcomer. We are always happy to refer you to that organization or person on your behalf. Services can include our in-house&nbsp;<a href=\"http:\/\/www.languageassessment.ca\/en\/\">language assessment services<\/a>&nbsp;or paid translation services provided by&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/atio.on.ca\/\">ATIO-certified<\/a>&nbsp;translators.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Our group information sessions are open to the public and focus on a specific theme or topic related to settlement. Topics may include filing your income taxes, adjusting to winter, and parenting in Canada.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">*Please note we are not professional immigration consultants or lawyers.
